National Women's welding competition held in Pune

PUNE: The industrial arena of Pune witnessed a historical moment with the happening of National Women Welding Competition Season -2. Kemppi India and Nextgen plasma in association with the Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India) has started its second season of women welding competition on Sunday at Kemppi Robotic Solution Centre, Pune. With an aim of promoting women empowerment we gladly launched the first set of competitions in Pune.

The competition is held every year as an initiative towards inspiring and enhancing the skill of woman welders across India. The National Best Welder Competition for Women is held under the categories of Best Structural Welder, Best Pipe Welder and Best Student Welder. This year the competition will be held in 4 major cities, each catering to a region. The cities are - Pune in Western Region, Delhi in Northern Region, Kolkata in Eastern Region and Chennai in Southern Region. Apart from the winners each of the participants will be awarded with participation certificates.

Kemppi India has always promoted the involvement of women in welding industry. Women Welding Season -1 was a remarkable initiative from Kemppi India. The first Season had the participation of 18 women welders form different industries. This gave the momentum for the women welding Competition Season 2 and this time the event has grown bigger.

The event held in Pune came out to be a grand success. It witnessed the large number of Women Welders from major industries like Mahindra and Mahindra, GE, Inox, Ador Welding etc. The programme started with the inaugural address by the National Sales Manager, Mrugesh Sutaria followed by deliverance from other industrial experts. Each participant came out to be astonishment to our eyes with their impeccable knowledge. We could see the excitement in them to ignite the arc.

This competition stands out in providing the best opportunity for women welders to showcase their skills. We are sure that such competitions open a new job profile before many women. The existing wrong notions with typecasting such a profession to men alone could be wiped off through this effort. It will definitely motivate more ladies to choose welding as a career option. Kemppi India always promotes women welders and helps them to excel in their career.
