Vyapar Tamil Nadu: Building The Future


The contours and dynamics of retail automotive businesses are changing at alarmingly fast pace. The competition is intensifying with each passing day. Above all, the businesses are being confronted with the GST and RTO issues with the implementation of Vahan 4.0 that ring in new challenges and complexities never confronted before.

It is, therefore, incumbent on the automobile dealerships to keep pace with and change in tune with the fast changing scenario and business dynamics. Otherwise, they would not be able to survive the disruption caused by host of these challenges. Gearing for the disruptions is the need of the hour for the automobile dealers.

With this aim, FADA is working to make the Federation every Auto Dealer’s one stop destination for any concern related to the Automobile Retail Industry. To facilitate this in an organised way, the Federation has started organising state level conference called VYAPAR in every FADA State Chapter.

After immensely successful Vyapar’s in New Delhi, Mumbai, Patna, Lucknow, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru, the eighth edition of Vyapar: Vyapar Tamil Nadu- Building The Future, was held on June 03, 2019 at Hotel Radisson Blu Chennai City Centre, Chennai. The event witnessed more than 100 entrepreneurs, who own and operate the Automotive Retail business for passenger, two wheelers and commercial vehicle manufacturers come together under one roof.

Bharat Chordia, Chairman FADA Tamil Nadu welcoming all emphasised that the automobile dealers must appreciate the important role played by them in building the Nation by providing jobs to more than 5 million people near their homes and skilling them as well. The Auto Retail industry was also one of the highest contributors to the national exchequer by means of tax contributions. There were lot of disruptions that the industry was facing by way of policy changes and reduced off take of vehicles at the dealerships. Events like Vyapar was an attempt by FADA in helping dealerships brace with changes and therefore, Sessions at Vyapar Tamil Nadu had been chalked out keeping this in mind, he added.

Ashish Kale, President FADA in his speech thanked the Tamil Nadu automobile fraternity to have taken time off to attend the event in such huge number on a hot Monday afternoon. Mr Kale spoke about F A D A and its role in working towards getting resolution to dealers on dealership issues. He said it would be his endeavour along with his team to make FADA climb newer heights will advocating issues of dealer interest.

Chief Guest, Air Marshal S Varthaman PVSM AVSM VM VSM (Retd) spoke on how Leadership should transform from being proficient to being efficient and on the importance of prayer sharing his experience in trying moments.  Arindam Lahiri, CEO, ASDC emphasised on Skilling aspect. He said auto retail industry was one of the largest employment generators, but it faced severe crunch of industry ready personnel. This gap ASDC was trying to cover and has roped in the industry and TCS for certifying candidates who had successfully completed the training.
