Cerebral Palsy children screened


PUNE: A two day comprehensive cerebral palsy (CP) assessment camp was conducted by Finolex Industries Limited (FIL) and its CSR partner Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF) at Ratnagiri and Satara recently.

A total of 266 (Ratnagiri - 79 & Satara – 188) children’s were screened and further advised for surgery and orthotics as necessary. Specialist doctors from hospitals in Pune like Sancheti Hospital, KEM Hospital, HV Desai Hospital along with local medical teams in Ratnagiri and Satara performed assessment on these children.

The camp was graced by the presence of authorities from the Zilla Parishad, Dr. Athalye, District Health Officer (DHO), Dr. Thombare Additional DHO, Dr. Bolde, Civil Surgeon and Mr. Gawand, ZP Education Department among others from the local doctors. At Satara, the event was positively supported by the Zilla Parishad authorities of Satara, Dr. Kailash Shinde, CEO, Dr. Bhagwan Pawar, DHO. A special mention here is the support of RBSK providing vehicles to pick up children from designated pick up points and bringing them to the center and Special Educators of the Education department who helped with the mobilization and awareness towards this camp at Satara and Ratnagiri.
