PUNE: Tata
AutoComp Systems, India’s leading auto-component conglomerate has signed a
joint-venture with Chinese company Guoxuan Hi-Tech, to design, engineer,
manufacture and supply battery packs for the Indian four-wheeler market.
The joint-venture company has started a prototype
manufacturing operation in Pune, India. The Prototype facility was inaugurated
by Zhen Li, Chairman Guoxuan Hi-Tech and Arvind Goel, MD & CEO Tata
AutoComp Systems Limited. The joint venture company is now geared up to
support the Indian EV OEMs. Tata AutoComp’s offerings to the emerging EV
segment now include Battery Pack, Battery Cooling System, Battery Management
System, Radiator and DC Chargers.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Goel said, “At Tata
AutoComp, it is our endeavour to bring the latest technology and solutions to
our customers. With the augment of Electric Vehicles, the need for battery
packs would be significant and we see a huge opportunity in this market. We are
pleased to have Guoxaun Hi-Tech as our partner, which has been offering cutting
edge technology in Battery Packs.”
Zhen Li, Chairman, Guoxuan High-Tech, said “India and
China face similar problems of growing aspirational population and increasing
