PUNE: The Zurich-based bank, Credit Suisse, has started a new facility at Eon Phase II in Pune, which will have the capacity to seat about 4,500 IT professionals.
The company already has about 1,600 IT professionals in India
(about 1,000 in EON Phase I in Pune alone), representing about 10% of the
bank’s IT workforce. “The state-of-the-art office, called EON II, will co-exist
with the present workspace in EON I. From EON II, teams will lead the
development and roll out of cutting-edge technology and innovative
methodologies, such as agile, cloud computing, machine learning and
robotics, to support Credit Suisse’s global business operations,” the bank said
in a statement.
The bank said the India centre has grown up the value chain and
was more than just a support function for the group’s technology offerings now.
Also, the products developed in Credit Suisse, Pune are deployed around the
world.
The financial services company did not specify the investment
it has made in the facility, nor the number of people it wishes to hire, but
said it has made “significant” investments.
