PUNE: The title
of 'Mrs Maharashtra 2018' in gold category has been bagged by Niyome Dey of
Pune. Niyome Dey said during a press conference, 'I could get this honor
only because of the support and encouragement of my family.' On this
occasion, Niyome's mother Meghana Khandekar, Diva Pageant's organisers Anjana and
Karl Mascarenhas were present.
Diva Pageant recently had organized 'Mrs Maharashtra Empress
of Maharashtra season 3' in Pune. The idea behind this mega-event was to show
that women can shine at any age given the right platform. There were 40
finalists from across Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Nagpur and Kolhapur in the final
round of 'Mrs Maharashtra 2018'. It included 20 participants divided in two
groups according to age group; 20 to 33 (silver category), and 33 and above
(gold category).
Born and brought up in Mumbai, this 36 year old Diva shifted
to Pune in her early teenage days. She completed her commerce studies from Ness
Wadia College in Pune. Later her interest in the field of Media attracted her
to study TV and Video Production from Xavier’s Institute of Communication. Her
choice of career gave the opportunity to work in various production houses as
Assistant Director and Assistant Producer.
Niyome has worked with Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhary on a
making of Bengali FilmAntaheen which received a National Film Award in the
Best Film category in the year 2008. Niyome is the daughter of senior journalist
Sukrit Khandekar, and the wife of Colonel Sourav Narayan Dey. She is also
a Reebok fitness Trainer and also a Zumba Instructor.
Niyome is a certified Soft skill trainer and Image
consultant. After winning the glorious crown Niyome plans to motivate
and encourage women through her workshops. Her passion includes adventurous
travel full of challenging activities. She is also a brown belt in karate.
