PUNE (NIGDI): Premier mountaineering institute Giripremi has organised a unique exhibition of mountain photos and equipment, The Invincible Heights, at Swatantryaveer Savarkar Sadan, Sector 25, Pradhikaran, Nigadi, Pimpri Chinchwad.
It was inaugurated Shravan Hardikar, Commissioner, Pimpri
Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Deepak Lokhande, Director, ICRC and Pradeep
Patil, Jt. Secretary, Swatantryaveer Savarkar Mandal, Nigdi were chief guests
for the program. The timings for the two-day long Exhibition is 10 AM to 8 PM
and it is free and open for all.
Commissioner Hardikar was impressed with the exhibition theme
and set up. He said, “Giripremi has done tremendous job by organizing such a
wonderful exhibition in Pimpri- Chinchwad city. I would request all the people
across age groups to visit this expedition as it is a source of inspiration.
This is a unique opportunity for younger generation to get inspiration they
need. Giripremi is doing remarkable things and we should support them.”
An avid trekker and an environment lover, Hardikar was really
pleased after knowing theobjectives of Kangchenjunga Eco Expedition 2019 and
Eco Project. He has promised support Kangchenjunga Eco Expedition 2019 and
wished success for the expedition. Lokhande said that Giripremi is a source of
energy for him. He never climbed a single hill, still the adventures Giripremi
mountaineers do fascinate him. It provides energy to achieve something in life,
not only to him but also to thousands of people. He said Giripremi is
university of mountaineering field and it will achieve the success in all the
upcoming expeditions.
The USP of the expedition is photos of thrilling climb on
world’s highest peak Mt. Everest, thunderous photos of Giripremi’s 8000 meters
peaks expedition and photos of rich biodiversity of Mt. Kanchenjunga (where
Giripremi has organized a biggest civilian expedition in April- May 2019)
region along with difficulties of the climbing on world’s third highest peak.
Along with photos, mountaineering equipment from Rock Pitons, down suit to
oxygen cylinder and masks are kept for the exhibition.
Common curiosity about what clothes, shoes mountaineers wear
during the expedition is also answered by experienced mountaineers during the
exhibition. Giripremi’s Everesteer are conducting special sessions to share
their climbing experiences. It is a golden opportunity for adventure lovers and
school kids to see some of the breath-taking photos and to listen Everesteer.
The exhibition is free and open to all. You can visit the exhibition from 10 AM
to 8 PM on Sunday.
