Ambassador, Daniel Carmon along with his team visited to Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit (NICU) of Sassoon General Hospital here today. He was welcomed by Prakash
Chhabria, Executive Chairman, Finolex Industries Ltd. (FIL) and President,
Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF).
Dr. Ajay Chandawale, Dean, Sassoon General Hospital was
present along with his team of doctors, Dr. Aarti Kinikar, Dr. Rajesh
Kulakarni, Dr. Uday Rajput and Dr. Ibrahim Ansari. The team explained Daniel
the facilities provided by the hospital for the new born babies requiring
medical assistance.
FIL along with its CSR partner MMF created 59 bedded Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit (NICU) along with State-of-the-art life-saving equipment at
Sassoon General Hospital, Pune, in collaboration with Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati
Trust in April 2017. This is a multi-specialist government tertiary hospital in
Western Maharashtra and is one of the busiest NICUs catering to critically sick
babies who are born at Sassoon and who are referred from the periphery of Pune
free of cost.
After the NICU visit, Daniel said ‘He is overwhelmed to see
the Mukul Madhav Foundation ward where children are treated, helping them
confront the first challenges of Life.’ He further praised Chhabria family for
their mission in Saving Lives and congratulated them for this endeavour.
