Giripremi, GGIM launches new trekking programme

PUNE: Nature has been the greatest source of energy and a wonderful guide to the mankind. And mountaineering, rock climbing and trekking are the activities, for which the playground is the whole wilderness. With every step, till we reach the zenith of our goals, we learn lessons of physical, social, mental and spiritual development. These lessons eventually mould us into great human beings. Most importantly, we learn to face challenges and gain confidence to overcome them.

Giripremi has been conducting ‘Avhaan’ for past 12 years. But since last year, GGIM has redesigned this programme into three staged ‘Avhaan – Nirmaan - Udaan’ (ANU). Treks, rock climbing, history, geography, first aid, environmental science, Himalaya adventure are some of the highlights of this ANU programme. Participants learn qualities such as team bonding, leadership, decision making, positivity, patience through practical experiences.

This whole programme is meant for participants in age group of 10 -16 and is divided into 12 months such as 1 trek per month, 1 three to four days Sahyadri Adventure camp during Diwali vacation and 1 8-10 days Himalaya Adventure camp in summer vacation. Based on participants’ performance, they will be certified at the end of the programme.

For the coming generation, only school academics isn’t enough. Along with that they need to become able to take challenges of life at all levels. ANU programme is essentially designed to instil confidence and daring attitude among youth.

The registration for ANU 2018-19 will begin soon and a briefing meeting regarding registration process, schedule, treks & activities, is scheduled on 17th Jun 2018 at 9:30 AM at Pandit Javaharlal Nehru Auditorium, Ghole Road, Shivaji Nagar Pune.
