City to have EVA- All Women’s Surgery Clinic

PUNE: Women can suffer from similar diseases like Piles, Fissures, Fistula, Haemorrhoids, Rectal bleeding, Gall bladder stone, pancreatic stones, Hernia and many more. Due to nature of these diseases, majority of the women try to avoid and neglect themselves because of  reservations in their mind to get examined by a male surgeon. 

To address this unspoken problem, Sahyadri Hospitals come up with a unique initiative called EVA clinic. Eva Clinic - A unique all Women’s Surgery Clinic. For Women - Specialized, dedicated unit offering comprehensive consultation & Surgical Services for women.

The Clinic was inaugurated at a function held at Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital Nagar Road at the hands of Chief Guest Honourable Mayor Mukta Tilak in the presence of Guest of Honour Commissioner of Police Pune Rashmi Shukla. Also present Dr Jayashree Apte, Executive Director - Sahyadri Hospitals and Dr Jayashree Todkar, Obesity Expert and Director Sahyadri Hospitals & JT obesity Solutions - ‘O’ clinic, Dr. Padma Iyer, President – Indian Medical Association (IMA) Pune, Dr Maya Tulpule, Past President IMA and Dr Sunil Rao Group COO Sahyadri Hospitals.    

Eva clinic will be open on every Monday, Thursday and Saturday 3 pm to 5 pm at Deccan Gymkhana, Nagar Road, Hadapsar,  Kothrud and Bibwewadi. The specialized services will include dedicated & highly trained Women Surgeon, comprehensive consultation services, specialized surgical Packages & well defined clinics.

The well-defined clinic includes, Breast Clinic (for Breast & related diseases), Proctology Clinic (for treatments for Piles, Fissures, Fistula, Haemorrhoids, Rectal bleeding) Digestive Disorders Clinic (for all Digestive & Liver diseases & surgeries for Gall bladder stone/ pancreatic stones etc), Hernia Clinic (for surgical treatments of all types of Hernias), besides support services like Physiotherapy & Nutrition Counselling. The Eva Clinic Team includes General & Laparoscopic Surgeons Dr. Jayashree Todkar, Dr. Preeti Rodgers, Dr. Shilpa Naik, Dr. Anagha Wadgaonkar, Dr. Shama Shaikh, Dr. Gauri Singh, Dr. Suhasini Jadhav.

Chief Guest, Honourable Mayor Mukta Tilak said that “the concept of engaging women for their health is good. Women normally deny going to doctor and that later creates health problems for her”. She further said, “For those from the weaker economic sections and who cannot afford surgeries, it is necessary to spread awareness about Shahari Garib Vaidyakiya Yojana so that this initiative helps women from all sections of the society”.  

Present for the launch as Guest of Honour, Rashmi Shukla said that “women’s health have often been taken for granted, many a times we do it unknowingly. So it is important to take care of women’s health and it should start from our home.” On this new development, Dr Jayashree Apte, executive director Sahyadri Hospitals said “Sahyadri has always put its foot forward & started new initiatives in healthcare.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr Jayashree Todkar said “With this concept we wanted to create an environment where women can discuss their health issues without any hesitation. This initiative also emphasize the fact that-women have the capacity to deliver healthcare to the fullest”.  

As a part of launch initiative Sahyadri Hospitals has announced special screening camp exclusively for Women from 20th June to 20th July 2018 which will include consultation with women surgeon at Special Discounts, 25% Discount on Pathology Lab Investigations & Diagnostic and discounts on Surgeries, if advised.
