PUNE: The
Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation said no-objection certificates (NOCs) will
be required for redevelopment and construction projects within 20 m of the
Metro route and stations on both sides.
The Pune Municipal Corporation, on receipt of an application
seeking building permission, will approach MahaMetro for the NOC.
Permissions would be granted after checking certain aspects of the project,
such as structural design and foundation, MahaMetro officials said.
The officials said that the Metro Act has a provision making
it mandatory to obtaining such NOCs. “The provision is in place to avoid any
mishaps during Metro work. The NOCs will be granted to PMC, not individuals,”
an official explained.
In Pune, MahaMetro is working on two Metro corridors. The
Metro rail will run through the city’s central areas.
