PUNE (Pimpri Chinchwad) : The civic body will create dedicated
Bus Rapid Transit System lanes on Pune-Alandi Road from Bopkhel phata at a cost
of Rs 4.78 crore, Vijay Bhojane, spokesperson for the BRTS cell, said.
The civic body has widened the 6 km Pune-Alandi Road to 60m
from Duttanagar in Dighi to the border with the neighbouring Alandi Municipal
Council.
This road has 10 lanes, comprising two lane BRTS having a
width of 7m, a main carriageway of 9m width on both sides of the BRTS bus
lanes. There is a 8.25m wide service road on both sides of the road. There is
tree median of 2.75m width between the main carriageway and service road and a
2.5m wide cycle track and 1.8 meter wide footpath on both sides of the road.
A civic official said the dedicated BRTS bus lanes will come
up after installing barricades on the of 4.8km road stretch.
