Technical Education Society’s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SIPS),
Lonavala has been conferred with AICTE’s Clean Campus award for 2017. The award
was received by Dr. Rajesh J Oswal, Principal, SIPS Lonavala and Dr. A. V.
Deshpande, Registrar, STES. The award was presented by Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe,
Chairman – AICTE and Prof. Amrut Dutta, Western Region Office – AICTE in the
presence of the respected jury from AICTE, New Delhi.
SIPS, Lonavala was selected for this accolade on the basis of
the various initiatives and novel concepts undertaken by the institute. These
included rain water harvesting, solid and wet waste management, recycling of
all types of waste, conservation of energy, food waste management, reduction of
carbon footprint, COD/BOD sustainability and many more attempts to maintain a
clean and green campus throughout the year.
Speaking on this achievement, Dr. A. V. Deshpande, Registrar, STES said,“At Sinhgad Technical Education Society, we always encourage our students and faculty to contribute towards the environment. We are honoured to receive this award for our Lonavala campus and are proud of the sincere efforts they have undertaken. I am certain that the same practices will be adopted by other educational institutes and we will together work towards building a clean and green atmosphere for the students.”
