Pune: The
famous Jejuri temple, located about 50km from the city, will soon offer virtual
darshan to its devotees.
The facility was launched by the Shree Martand
Devsansthan through a newly-developed website. One of the trustees, Prasad
Khandagle, said that the website www.khandobajejuri.com
has a direct link to the online portal.
He added that efforts for this facility have been on for more
than a year now. "There is also a plan to offer online booking of guest
rooms, darshan slots and offer donations soon." Officials also said that the online darshan
facility would be available on a pilot basis for the initial few months. After
that, there would be slots based on the 'aarti' timings.
About 32 cameras have been installed for live coverage and
online darshan. The footfall at the temple has registered a significant rise in
recent times.
