PUNE : Himalayan Mountaineering expedition
photo exhibition is inaugurated by the hands of famous actor-director Girish
Kulkarni. India’s leading mountaineering club Giripremi presents a unique
opportunity to experience the thrill of climbing eight thousander mountains
through the stories captured in the cameras of mountaineers in photography
exhibition organized on 6th to 8th January at Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru
Sanskrutik Bhavan, Ghole Road, Shivaji Nagar, Pune.
The
exhibition reveals the journey of five extreme altitude expeditions organized by
Giripremi in last five years namely - Pune Everest 2012, Lhotse Everest 2013, Makalu
2014, Cho Oyu and Dhaulagiri 2016. Also, the special mountaineering equipment
used in these expeditions is displayed in the exhibition.

Zirpe, Giripremi’s President Aanand Palande, founder president Ushaprabha Page
alongwith many members of Giripremi, members of exhibition sponsors ‘Primes and
Zooms’ ‘Siddharth Tours’ ‘Fly Catchers’ ‘Mudra Fine arts’ ‘Khadke Products’
‘Royal touch events’ ‘Everest Adventure gears’ and many outdoor enthusiasts
were present on this occasion.
In 2017,
Giripremi has planned various mountaineering expeditions to the Himalayas.
Expedition to a seven thousand meter high Kun peak (7077M) near Kargil is one
of them. This exhibition is organized as part of promotion and fund raising
activities for this expedition.
