US Consul
General visit Nashik
MUMBAI : U.S.
Consul General Thomas Vajda visited the ‘Grape city’ of Nashik as part of his
outreach to the different cities in western India in support of greater
opportunities for U.S.-India trade and investment.
During his visit to Nashik, Consul General Vajda visited the
Lord Corporation; a North Carolina-based tech and manufacturing company that
develops adhesives, coatings, and motion management devices. He also
visited Mylan Labs; a large generics and specialty pharmaceutical company based
in Pennsylvania with operations in Nashik.
Outside of his business meetings, Consul General Vajda also visited
several of Nashik’s cultural sites. At the Dadasaheb Phalke memorial
museum, he learned about the life of the “Father of Indian cinema.” He
also toured the 2000-year-old Pandavleni Buddhist caves and the organization
Pragati Abhiyan, where he observed firsthand their work to promote rural
development and overcome poverty.
